Each major religion provides educational opportunities and instruction for children and families regarding the basic history, tenets, and practices of their tradition, within a community of spiritual friendship and encouragement.
At WLHZ we offer Lotus Buds practice support for children aged 6-9 and their families. We provide resources in Buddhist teachings, including training in age-appropriate meditation practices — mindful sitting, walking, and bowing. These resources offer a variety of fun, kid-friendly activities to help students learn about the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. Students are encouraged to practice loving-kindness in service to one another, and with their teachers, family, and friends. In order to fully support Lotus Buds students we encourage parents and/or caregivers to maintain an active Buddhist practice themselves.
